I can’t, I won’t go back. I have no place to return to
No matter how many times I look back, I can’t return
Even if I repaint all my footprints to make them beautiful
They will still look faded to myself
Don’t look back. I wasn’t cool back then
Don’t look back. But that is why it’s dear to me
I can’t, I won’t go back. I have no place to return to
No matter how many times I look back, I can’t return
Even if I repaint all my footprints to make them beautiful
They will still look faded in my heart
Don’t look back. I can smile now
Don’t look back. Because I’ve been through it
I want to, but can’t go forward. I felt so lost
But I have now found my way
Remaining here may seem easier
But it will not give me intense motivation
Hey, if the only thing that pleases a person is the time of their lives
When they shone the brightest, then that is just too sad
Don’t look back
I want to, but can’t go forward. I felt so lost
But I have now found my way
Remaining here may seem easier
But it will not give me intense motivation
I can’t, I won’t go back. I have no place to return to
No matter how many times I look back, I can’t return
Even if I repaint all my footprints to make them beautiful
They will still look faded to myself
If you were me
How would you
Close the act?
Don’t look back

When I woke up and turned my eyes to the window
And saw the gentle yet strong sunlight shining in
And as I watched, my tears started to flow
Because I could hear, because I could feel
If the sky will be like that today
Then surely I’ll be able to walk on well
Yes, we have lived by stepping firmly on this blue star
Even if we can’t heal all the pain spreading throughout this world
If you lower your head and look down, I suggest you stop walking
Because it is a sign that you won’t be able to go on
The sky today is too high and far away, so it is hard to breathe properly
But we have lived by stepping firmly on this blue star
Even if we can’t stop all the anger running rampant through this world
If the sky will be like that today
Then surely I’ll be able to walk on well
Now, we have lived by stepping firmly on this blue star
Holding tightly onto all the love that is remaining in this world
It still remains in this world
Love surely remains here

A strong and very cold wind woke my body up
At the same time, the Eden which I’ve always longed for vanished
I don’t laugh, nor do I cry
Because I have always been used to despair
I’ll just go back to zero
No need to feel anything…
I can hear something, coming from far away
And soon, the end will begin
I will face it straight on
On my left side
I don’t need any pity
“If that is really the bottom of the abyss
Then the only way to go is up”
You told me that, without any trace of hesitation
Just what are you trying to say?
But that is not important
There are other more serious matters
I can hear something, coming from far away
And soon, the end will begin
I will watch and pretend till the very end
At your left side
I don’t need anything else
I can hear something, coming from far away
And soon, the end will begin
I will face it straight on
On my left side
I can hear something, coming from far away
And soon, the end will begin
I will watch and pretend till the very end
At your left side
I don’t need anything else

Misa-chan’s note: This song has a very interesting link around the last 2 choruses. The line “On my left side” in the 2nd last chorus links to both the line above it, and the first line of the next chorus. So we get 2 sentences featuring the same line, like
“I will face it straight on on my left side” and
“On my left side, I can hear something, coming from far away”
Both sentences serve to give us a deeper insight into the song. The something that she hears, is hinted to be coming only from her left side, and signals the beginning of the end. This corresponds to the ringing sound symptoms associated with loss of hearing, and the end here probably means complete deafness.
In conclusion, all this ties up fittingly with the song title, a count down.

tell me why? tell me why?
I don’t know. I don’t know.
I won’t tell you why
Change is a really awesome thing but
It doesn’t mean you have to lose yourself
It only works when you are firmly rooted
And can accept both your past and future
Surely, there were days when I felt at my limit
And wanted to just turn my back on everything
And curl up into a ball, but
I won’t lose my way anymore, I have no regrets
Meeting you was fate
The meaning of being me, the reason for my existence
The one who taught me all that
Was always you
tell me why? tell me why?
I don’t know. I don’t know.
I won’t tell you why
There are also days when you seemed so hateful
That I didn’t even want to see you
So there are times when I thought things like
“Don’t ever let me see you again”
But that doesn’t mean that I can let you go
In the end, I want you close beside me, always
Pushed by gravity, pulled by attraction
Meeting you was necessary
I can’t go against you, I can only respect you
Because I know that without you
I won’t be me
If a perfect melody really exists
I don’t want to meet it yet
I won’t lose my way anymore, I have no regrets
Meeting you was fate
The meaning of being me, the reason for my existence
The one who taught me all that
You were
Pushed by gravity, pulled by attraction
Meeting you was necessary
I can’t go against you, I can only respect you
Because I know that without you
I won’t be me
tell me why? tell me why?
