Fans’ Reactions to AKB48 New Song Title 「Ue kara Mariko」?

On 29 October at the meet-and-greet session commemorating the release of AKB48 single 「Flying Get」 at Ajinomoto Stadium, the 16 members chosen to sing the new song via the 「24th Single Selection Rock, Paper, Scissors Competition」 announced the title of the new song (to be released on 7 December).

The title for the 24th single is 「Ue kara Mariko」, named after member Shinoda Mariko, who won centre-seat during September’s 「Rock, Paper, Scissors Competition」.

The single will be sold in 4 formats: normal presses of Type-A, Type-K and Type-B, plus a theatre press. All types will include c/w song 「Noel no yoru」, plus another different song. Type-A will include 「Rinjin wa kizutsukanai (Team A」, Type-K will include 「Zero Sum Taiyou (Team K」, Type-B will include 「Yobi sute Fantasy (Team B」, and theatre press will include 「Hashire! Penguin (Team 4)」.

Shinoda Mariko, whose name is included in the new song’s title, announced happily via Twitter, “The new song title from the rock, paper, scissors competition has been revealed ( *｀ω´) It is… 「Ue kara Mariko」 (=｀ω´=) My name…Is in there \(//∇//)\”
