The petals dancing in the wind, you grabbed one and passed it to me

If that’s the case, there’s nothing I can do

The night you shed tears
I know that you didn’t understand why you were crying

Climbing to the top of the knoll near our house
A shooting star falls through the starry sky we looked up at

Humming into the wind, the city sleeps as you face up
Surrounded by the wind, look, soon dawn will come
Every season is all for you
If that’s the case, there’s nothing I can do

Things which won’t be left as memories
Let’s talk about them and make them memories
Won’t that be great?

If the wind suddenly drops, let’s start that song from the beginning again, come

I’m setting off on a journey before dawn, as I specially knit some clothes
Dreams and hopes and more, just to survive today

The future I strongly believed in to protect myself
There’s another self who laughs and thinks that’s silly

Your voice as you left was drowned by the wind
Not reaching my ears as I wave
Spring’s woods disappeared, leaving your smile

The footprints thus far include yours as well
But for whose sake shall I walk for from now on?

I need to give myself happiness first
So I’ll head down the road I aimed for on that day

How many times have we been compelled to make choices?
I want to smile with you like this, without having to choose

Not reaching my ears as I wave

The dream that made your eyes sparkle and lips smile as you spoke of it
In the end, it brought you pain more than anything else
You were too dazzling, as foes increased and you became alone
With just thoughts of “someday, surely” in your heart

The sun finally rises
As if not losing to its heat
You stand right up again, despite losing heart
For the sake of a self you can’t yet see

Not showing your tears, just facing straight
I gaze upon you
The future you have shouldered upon your small back
Protects you
As you create a new era

Were there many things you couldn’t do because of that dream?
There must have been many goodbyes, the more precious it got
In such times, don’t resist, it’s ok to cry out loud
With the courage to show weakness, dreams alone will never leave you
