サクラノアメモエギノヨ (Sakura no ame moegi no yo) – The sakura rain is pale green
from UNFINISHED single + KUCHU PUZZLE album.
——
“See you”… With that, you stretched out a hand
And I squeezed back, knowing it was a lie
The colors change along with the season
And we parted under the sakura tree
Those words I spoke because I believed
Have become more unbelievable than anything else
People’s hearts are the things that change
And the seasons are not to blame
Rain the colour of sakura
Soaking these boundaries
Let it erase everything, let it end
It’s been a long time since I saw wings on that strong back
Now, only pain is recalled
Carry me away to that river that runs deep into eternity
With limbs shaking like the leaves on a tree
Where am I going?
Losing all sense of heaven and earth
I seem to remember seeing this crossroads
And standing right here…
“Good night” and the conversation has ended
But because you’re so faithful, I sent another text
Gentle days like these were too fragile
Dancing in the wind like petals
“I bought new shoes today”
Seeing you speak with a smile and sparkle in your eye
I remember feeling an unexplainable premonition
It’ll be great to be able to return to that day, but…
A pale green night
Slowly tinged with heat
The twilight makes my senses go mad
If I pretend not to hear and go to sleep
I can recall that happy curse again
I pray hard
That if this is a dream
Don’t let me wake, just let it end like this
On the clock that someone has labelled as life, the second-hand
Clicked and screamed
That day when I thought of your back and our hopes for tomorrow
Let it not be an illusion, as I carve it onto my eyelids and say goodbye
Rain the colour of sakura
Blotting out these tears
Let’s not look back on yesterday again
The reason your strong back faced up to the sky was surely
Because those days had shone
My wings have dropped, but the pale green wind still blows
So let these dim memories take flight
The flowerbud in my heart embraces truth and dreams
Standing up and looking at the crossroads
Cutting through the clouds…
